Aqua Jog

Aqua Jog is a very high intensity workout, great for losing body fat and toning up. This is ideal for sportsmen/sportswomen returning from lower limb injuries as the pool provides a non weight bearing exercise, which allows athletes to perform to a very high level with no irritation to their previous injury.

***POOL CLOSURE INFORMATION***

Due to forthcoming galas and private bookings the pools or some of the lanes will be closed on the following days and times:

Sunday 22nd January 2012 - Both pools will be closed 10.15AM-6.15PM

Sunday 5th February 2012 4 lanes closed 3PM-4PM

Saturday 10th March 2012 - ALL DAY

Sunday 11th March 2012 - ALL DAY

Saturday 31st March 2012 - ALL DAY

Sunday 15th April 2012 - ALL DAY

Sunday 22nd April 2012 - Both pools will be closing at 2.45pm

*BAND POLICY*

To help us monitor our participation levels and manage our pool programme, we distribute disposable wrist bands for all swim sessions.
- The bands will be issued at reception and need to be worn when you are in the pool.
- The band colour will change on a daily basis and at busy times which will help us to manage users levels and ensure everyone has the opportunity to swim.
- Users for the Leisure Waters will have to wear this band as well as another band for which hourly session you are in.

A set amount of customers are let into the Leisure Waters Pool every half hour, and they are entitled to 1 hour in the Leisure Waters Pool. Bands can not be reserved by telephone or days in advance. Bands have to be purchased on the day of use, they can be purchased earlier in the day for later use. Once a session has ran out of bands, no more customers can be let through for that session. And will have to purchase bands for the next available session, or for later on in the day and come back. Any questions or queries on the band system, please do not hesitate to ask.

*MISPLACED MEMBERSHIP CARDS*

If you have misplaced your card you may purchase a replacement card at reception for the fee of £6.00

There are other ways you can continue to enjoy complimentary swimming at this Centre by:

- Enrol on to our Swimming Academy "learn to swim" programme

*BUSY SESSIONS*

All weekend and Holiday Sessions are very busy and a band entry system is operated. Sessions apply to all pools and are one hour in duration. Entry to the sessions is every half hour (depending upon demand).

Adults wishing to do fitness swimming would be better to attend Early Risers or an Adult Only Session.

*UNDER 8's ENTRANCE POLICY*

Children under 8 must b supervised in the water and changing rooms by a parent or adult (18+)

A maximum of 3 children under 8 is permitted per parent/adult.

This is the recommendation of the Health & Safety Executive.

*FREE SWIMMING FOR THE UNDER 8's up until 31st March 2012*

All children under age of 5 years are entitled to swim "FREE OF CHARGE" at Braintree Swimming Centre. Children aged 5 to 7 years may continue to swim for "FREE" if they are registered at our Reception Desk up until 31st March 2012.
Or are members of the Swimming Academy.

For further help and assistance please contact our Reception Desk where every effort will be made to provide assistance.

Main Pool Facility

8 Lane x 25 metre Pool, ideal for fitness swimming, casual/leisure swimming and for the whole family. Also caters our Aqua Aerobic classes and our new Aqua Jog classes

Leisure Waters

A family orientated pool, with slide and interactive equipment. Children must be under 8 years to use this pool and acompanied by a parent or an adult (18+).

Teaching Side of Leisure Waters

Used for both Public Sessions and Swim Academy Lessons. This pool is for children under the age of 8 years, who must be accompanied by a parent or adult, or non swimmers ONLY

UV Treated Water

All pools are uv treated, reducing chlorine levels to the minimum. This provides a more pleasant swimming environment for bathers.

Large Spectator Facilities

Seating and spectating facilities are spacious and ideal for Swimming Galas and watching Swimming Lessons.

Greater Disabled Access

The design of this new building has really catered for our disabled customers. Entrance doors are automatic, with a lift to take you to the first floor. We have two hoist available which offer assistance in and out of the Main Pool and in and out of wheel chairs. All toilets are disabled friendly and fitted with assistance alarms.

Conference Facilities

We have two meeting / training areas. The bigger of the rooms offers toilet facilities and a kitchen. Both rooms are fully air-conditioned. Catering and refreshments can be provided for all bookings.

Large Car Park

Braintree shares parking with Freeport Shopping Village, providing plenty of parking. Please see Car park prices above. There are also disabled spaces directly outside the Swimming Centre

Train & Bus Access

With a train station and bus stop a short distance away, access to the Swimming Centre couldn't be better.

Swim Academy

Braintree Swimming Centre provides a vast programme of swimming lessons for all ages. Details available from Reception (01376 - 333833)
